Kiss of Death Team Members, Tony Robles, Andy Segal, Olhausen Billiards, and Century Billiards Set To Help The Little Shelter
Cue Nine to Host an Animal Shelter Benefit featuring Kiss of Death, Tony Robles, and Andy Segal on February 13
Story By Alison Fischer – NYCGrind.com
In the past, NYC Grind has covered stories on the generous nature of pool players who have donated their time and efforts to benefit a number of charitable causes, including supporting cancer patients, injured veterans, and autistic children. Truth be told, having a passion for pool can be much more than a leisure activity and competitive sport. Pool players and billiards-affiliated organizations from all around the world have taken part in benefits to raise money for a wide range of charitable causes.
And now on the horizon for pool fans in New York, a brand new charity event will be held at the brand-new Cue Nine Billiards, Bar & Restaurant in Levittown, NY on Long Island, the newest upscale hotspot for billiards and great food. This event, which will benefit The Little Shelter Animal Rescue & Adoption Center in Huntington, NY is being launched by one of Long Island’s most dedicated up-and-coming players and supporters of the game, Charles Eames.
Charles, who is the Cue Nine House Pro and the producer & director of the Valley Forge 14.1 Challenge, as well as a contributing writer & photographer for NYCgrind.com, is the director of this charity event, made possible by the support of Cue Nine owner John Brendle and donations by Olhausen Billiards, Century Billiards, and J. Pechauer Custom Cues.
This benefit event, Cue Nine’s “February Pool Party”, will be raising money to support a unique and invaluable, asset to animals in Long Island. The Little Shelter, which was voted the Best Animal Shelter on Long Island in 2010, is a no-kill shelter and non-profit organization which focuses on providing a safe, secure environment for animals without homes, in hopes of placing them with loving families. However, when animals are unable to be placed in homes, The Little Shelter also provides a long-term sanctuary home for them as an alternative to other systems that sometimes resort to euthanasia. To learn more about the shelter, visit www.littleshelter.com.
In support of this great cause to improve the lives of many animals without homes, NY pool stars including world-renowned pro player and instructor Tony Robles, Trick Shot Champion Andy Segal, and Women’s National 8-ball Team Champions “Kiss of Death” (including Borana Andoni, Gail Glazebrook, Emily Duddy, Michele Li, and Alison Fischer) will be coming together to provide a night of entertainment at Cue Nine to help raise money for The Little Shelter.
This event, which will run from 7pm-11pm, will feature exhibitions by some of the hottest names in billiards, along with a night of dining and drinks which will include an awesome silent auction for numerous Triple Crown Sports Memorabilia items, and a raffle for a stunning Limited Edition “Kiss of Death” Olhausen Pool Table (valued at $4,700) donated by Olhausen and Century Billiards. Everything included in the event is at an admission price of only $50, with all proceeds going to the Little Shelter Animal Rescue & Adoption Center.
